Complete Enumeration Results of the 2023 Census of Agriculture - Edition II: Food Crops Individual Agricultural Holdings Timor Tengah Selatan Regency

The agricultural sector has the potential to contribute significantly to the national economy. The fact that there is still a high level of labor absorption in the agricultural sector, along with substantial foreign exchange contributions from the rapidly growing agribusiness sector and the provision of raw materials for downstream industries, demonstrates the resilience of the agricultural sector facing the Covid-19 pandemic. Given this situation, provision of accurate and timely data on agricultural sector is crucial, as it can assist the government and stakeholders in planning and developing policies for both domestic interests and national development, serving as a valuable reference.
Comprehensive basic statistical data on the agricultural sector is obtained through the implementation of the Census of Agriculture. In accordance with the provisions of Law Number 16 of 1997, the main task and responsibility for conducting the Census of Agriculture are entrusted to the BPS-Statistics Indonesia.The 2023 Census of Agriculture (ST2023) is initiated to accommodate the necessary variables to present highly dynamic agricultural data. It aims to meet data needs at both national and international levels, and it is designed to produce results that align with international standards, referring to the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) program known as the World Programme for the Census of Agriculture (WCA) 2020. Therefore, it is anticipated that ST2023 will present data that can be compared internationally.
