Abstract

Monitoring of development results is absolutely necessary to observethe extent to which the development that has been implemented is beneficial for improvementwelfare of the people, so that the next development programs can bemore optimal. National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas) conducted by BPSis one source of information to get an overview ofsocio-economic conditions of the community.Regional autonomy gives rise to data needs down to the district / city level.These data are needed by district / city governments as a basisformulating policies and evaluating development programs. Answering the needsIn 2015, the Susenas data collection was carried out on the MonthMarch with a sample of 300,000 households making it possibleestimates to the district / city level. Besides that in 2020, the number of samplesThe March Susenas was increased to 345,000 households.Susenas produces various statistics across sectors including: participationschool, reading and writing skills, APS, APK, and NER for the fieldeducation; health problems, utilization of health facilities, health insurance,breastfeeding for baduta, and immunization for toddlers, as well as smoking behavior forhealth; birth attendant, age of first marriage, family planning participation, andthe average number of children born in the fertility and family planning sectors; place conditionsliving, water sources for cooking, bathing and washing for the housing sector;ownership of HP, internet access in the use of information technology, as wellgovernment assistance / programs for community welfare.Susenas also collects data on household consumption and expenditureboth for food and non-food commodities. From these data obtainedaverage household consumption and expenditure as well as average calorie consumption andprotein per capita. Consumption and expenditure data broken down by groupcommodities can provide an overview of the consumption patterns of a populationterritory.This publication presents statistics which are considered to be quite representative of a varietythe field and socio-economic conditions of the community by considering the requirementsthe feasibility of estimation at the district / city level indicated by the Relative valueStandard Error (RSE) as stated in the attachment
